Shine Bright Be Fearless is an Edmonton, Alberta-based award with the purpose of empowering and inspiring young girls as they transition to high school. The Award program has grown to include a committee of young Edmonton women who are driven by the desire to help others "Shine" and make a difference in their community.
We believe that compassion, understanding, and support can have lasting effects on the recipients and their communities. Shine Bright Be Fearless is proud to partner with YWCA Edmonton. Together, we can make the world a kinder, better, and brighter place for others.

This award has given me a chance to be strong and not afraid of going into a whole new beginning of my life, that being grade ten. I am now able to walk through those doors of my new school with my head held high and my textbooks firmly in hand. I'm ready to crush this year, and that is thanks to The Shine Bright Be Fearless Award.

For me, the most impactful moment when receiving the award was when I saw a poster of my name decorated with fun designs inside the gift box as it made me feel known. I truly am grateful for the existence of Shine Bright Be Fearless, I still treat the items I received with care today, and I sincerely hope Shine Bright can continue to help people.

Being a Shine Bright Be Fearless recipient has been a truly life-changing experience for me. Throughout my journey, I’ve learnt the importance of supporting and uplifting others, whether it’s through helping with schoolwork or offering food for students who need it. The support I’ve received from Shine Bright Be Fearless has inspired me to continue making a difference in the lives of others through the power of kindness and paying it forward.
The Award
The Shine Bright Be Fearless award is given to 50 Edmonton based junior high students yearly. Each recipient receives an award box at their school's award ceremony, this box is filled with “in” items such as claw clips, Hillberg and Berk earrings, Starbucks cups, lip balm and more! They are also invited to a shopping day in the summer with a stylist where they receive their $300 shopping card to purchase any items they want.
